U.S. Live Events Workforce Statistics
Current workforce figures for the broad U.S. sector that supports live events, arts, entertainment, and recreation.
Last updated September 17, 2026. Data through August 2026.
How to Read This
A clear view of a live industry.
Live events are produced by many kinds of businesses, from venues and performers to production teams and recreational operators. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics groups much of that activity into Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation. This page tracks that broad sector as a consistent reference point.
The figures do not count event video production as a separate category. They are useful for understanding the size and seasonality of the wider industry around it.

Methodology And Sources
Built for accurate citation.
All employment figures on this page use the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Current Employment Statistics series CEU7071000001: all employees in Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation, not seasonally adjusted. The source reports values in thousands. This page converts those values to people employed and rounds only the headline million figures to three decimal places.
Source data were retrieved September 17, 2026. The monthly series is the sole source for this reference page, keeping the definitions consistent across every figure.
